In the 1980’s, Frank and Jan Sorrels were just like many other Americans. Faced with the every-day challenges of raising a family in a small rural town, they often worked long hours. Doing a “good job” was never a challenge for them, but receiving a good income and benefits for the effort put out was. With that goal in mind, in the fall of 1985, they started to build Northwest Windshields. Their auto glass repair and replacement service was actually started out of their home and began with the unique idea of taking the shop to where the vehicle was…a concept that was unheard of in those days. Focusing on the goal of developing a nice income for their family, they worked hard and learned to “work smart”. They enjoyed owning their own business and being their own boss…and eventually, their efforts started to pay off. They soon realized that there was sure to be others out there that would appreciate the same type of income and benefits. It was then that the Sorrels' dream and vision expanded again and the franchise opportunity was born. Today, the corporate office has relocated to The Dalles, Oregon and their children, now adults, are a vital part of their business. Frank and Jan are proud of the families that have prospered because of this opportunity. With the development of successful franchises throughout the Northwest, they are proud of the support system that they can offer to each franchisee, a long-term goal of theirs from the beginning stages of the business.
